Hands down,  the best project I’ve had to opportunity to work on. My duties included concept and asset development for the Lighthouse playable intro as well as other asset development.

Concepts

Some of these were speed sketches in Photoshop. Some were done on small pieces of paper using a 9B soft graphite pencil. Many others were done on large paper using an oversized graphite stick to achieve a 30’s or 40’s style in the execution of the concepts themselves.

City Assets

These are the lo-poly buildings that I developed for the Welcome To Rapture concept as well as the city reveal in the intro sequence. I unwrapped the models and baked lighting into the diffuse texture to establish the Noir-style you see in the following unlit shots. Delineator Hugh Ferris and Architect Frank Lloyd Wright were huge inspirations. How could I not incorporate Wright? Ayn Rand was head-over-heels in love with the man.
